Sincere apologies

May 30, 2008

Dear Loyal Reader,

I’m sorry to have lied to you.  About 3 weeks ago, I promised to write to you every day.  Seems my fiery ambition and penchant for biting off more than I can chew has returned to bite me in the surprisingly poorly-cushioned ass.  I probably shouldn’t promise that I will make it up to you by writing 20+ entries today, but I will be better.

Nonetheless, I have prepared a somewhat unsound defense (if I may say so myself):

- I was obviously hesitant to use the default photographs provided with the website theme I chose, so I was waiting for my own.  I met with an amazing photographer whose work will be showcased on this site in the coming days.  She has sent me some previews of the shots I will be using (see header), and there are plenty more to come.

- Sky ate my website.

- No one actually reads this.

With deep regret,

Roshena

Happy New Year!

May 8, 2008

It sure feels like a new year, anyway.  Or maybe a new birthday.  Or re-birthday.  Because this website is something that I’ve been looking forward to doing (what, it wasn’t going to make itself?) for a long time.  Now that the wait is over, I feel like I’m getting a fresh start.  So I suppose I should make some resolutions.

1. Blog everyday.  Even if I’ve got nothing particularly interesting to share with the world.  Perhaps someone somewhere will, if nothing else, get a good laugh at my expense.

2. Write a song every week.  I’m ripping off someone else’s idea here (a proper lady won’t kiss and tell) but I think it’s high time I got off my ass and pursued this.  So be prepared for some random goodness – and don’t say you weren’t warned!  I may not be able to share them all with you, but I’ll do my best in hopes of earning yet another Trier Award to pin to my corkboard.

3. Take risks.  This is essentially the opposite of what my better judgment would have me do, but if I plan to get anywhere in life, I hear this is the way to do it.  Besides, at this point, I really have nothing to lose.  So inspiring and depressing at the same time.

Thanks for coming along; I hope you enjoy the ride.
